April 9th

Inside Caboodle Ranch lies Caboodle Town. Blanketed under the leaves of many tall trees, it's a peaceful and lazy little haven with colorful little houses, a beautiful little church, and a brand new City Hall. Take a look at the latest photos in Craig's live journal gallery, where you can stroll down the grassy lanes, stop for a church service, and even attend a town hall meeting!

Cats in the news:

Want to Live Longer?  Get a Cat!
A new study suggests cat owners are less likely to die of a heart attack or stroke than people who don't!  The study, by researchers at the University of Minnesota, found that feline-less people were 30 to 40 percent more likely to die of cardiovascular disease than those with cats.  Yet, NO protective effect by dog owners was observed!  The results were presented at the International Stroke Conference, since a stroke expert decided to raise the question because other studies suggested pets can help reduce stress.  The cat-dog differential came as a surprise, and it's not completely understood, but it's felt that the results are NOT a coincidence!
CABOODLE NEWS:
Who Are We?

Caboodle Ranch is a 30 acre non-profit cat rescue society; founded by a single individual who cared enough to make a difference in the lives of our fuzzy little friends; Click here for this amazing story!
"If a homeless cat could talk, it would probably say, 'Give me shelter, food, companionship and love, and I will be yours for life!"
~ Susan Easterly
Important note: Caboodle Ranch asks that shots are given, or a donation for a vet appointment is made, prior to picking up any feral's, so that any possible feline diseases are not transmitted to the cats that have already made their home with us. Although Craig will not turn down cats for rescue, a donation is very much appreciated to help care for them!

Many thanks from Caboodle Ranch!
Volunteering at Caboodle Ranch:

I've received a lot of email from people who'd like to volunteer at Caboodle Ranch. Understandably, Craig likes to keep the oodles of caboodles safe from harm, and won't allow just anyone to come in and volunteer. Right now I ask that you call Craig directly and speak with him for volunteer information.

Important contact information:

A reminder that Craig does not have internet access to read and repond to email, guestbook entries and Live Journal messeges. His journal is updated from his 'hand-written on scrap paper' stories. When he's in town he tries to take the time to read through his guestbook, but it isn't very often that he's actually 'in town.' If you're trying to reach him, especially with a  cat rescue emergency, please contact him by telephone. Thank you.
